Owner
Dr. Benoit Bouchet joined Aztec Animal Clinic in 2010 and, in 2015, became one of the owners at Aztec. He received his DVM from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing a private practice internship with San Luis Rey Equine Hospital in Southern California, he headed to New Mexico with his wife, Sofia, his Australian Shepherd, Katie, and two tabby cats, Samson and Annie. Dr. Bouchet worked as an equine veterinarian for five years before realizing he missed working with companion animals. He enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine but is particularly interested in ophthalmology, dentistry, and internal medicine.
Dr. Bouchet and Sofia have added daughters Isabel and Camille and Rita, a stray dog they found in a ditch, to their family. They moved to the Nob Hill area in 2007 and absolutely love the neighborhood. When he’s not working, Dr. Bouchet enjoys running, reading, gardening, cooking, wine tasting, and spending time with his family.
