Dr. Jones is a military brat turned New Mexico native in 2002. She earned a BS in Animal Science from Texas Tech University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. Dr. Jones completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson, AZ. There, she discovered a passion for wound care, soft tissue surgery, and pain management. Before joining the team at Aztec Animal Clinic, Dr. Jones served the Santa Fe, NM community as a veterinarian at Smith Veterinary Hospital.

Although she now enjoys promoting the human-animal bond through the treatment of household pets, Dr. Jones originally developed an interest in veterinary medicine through her work with the Albuquerque Biopark, New England Aquarium, Georgia Aquarium, AQUAVET (through Cornell University), and Dolphinaris.

When not at work, she enjoys needlework of all kinds (knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, etc.) and getting outdoors through hiking or snowboarding. Dr. Jones is also a New Mexico Street Homeless Animal Project board member.
